IN HIS OWN WORDS

Beginnings: I was five years old and I had a cousin who was two years older than me who started playing, and I looked up to him. His name is Ron Peck, and I started playing because of him.
Family: My wife Kim, daughter Emerson, my son Maddux, and my youngest is six months and he’s Lennon. My mother is Sally, my father is Larry, they live in the suburbs of Chicago. My brother Craig lives in Milwaukee and manages a football pub called the Highbury.
Chivas USA: I watched Chivas Guadalajara growing up, because the soccer that was on when I was a kid was the Mexican league and Chivas usually dominated the coverage. When I came here I understood that it was important for this team to be good in this league, for many reasons. It’s a privledge and an honor to be with this club, and I’m happy to be here.
Idols: I watched Maradona growing up, and I tried to fashion my game after Albertini because we had some similar qualities. Outside of soccer, I’m a history major and I’m into politics and I always liked JFK.
